Ingersoll Rand, an industrial manufacturer was looking for ways to improve communication skills for its office and onsite employees.

The key challenge for Ingersoll Rand was to conduct a training session for its onsite employees who were spread across the country. Enguru proposed a combination of blended and app+interactive programs which would benefit both its office and onsite employees. 

The course was customised in a way that a beginner level student covered general English modules whereas a more advanced level student focused on e-mail and business etiquette modules. 

Structure of the program

 160 levels on the app, equivalent to 20 hours on enguru app over the span of 12 weeks.

  • Pre-Assessment Test

    Essential for customising the course based on current English level of the student. 

  • Blended learning program for office employees

    App based learning combined with 8 hours of teacher training sessions spread across the program, aimed at giving participants additional speaking and writing practice, which reinforced app learning. 

  • App + interactive program for onsite employees

    App based learning merged with live webinar sessions & telephonic calls allowed users to learn from remote locations at convenient times.

  • Post assessment test

     After course completion, final results are compared with pre- assessment test to showcase improvement.

Learning Outcomes

Overall improvement – 83% of the employees improved their communication skills post course completion and 44% (roughly half of those who improved) managed to jump up one CEFR level which is considered an excellent performance.

Engagement – On an average, employees spent 22 hours on the app.

Expansion – After successful course completion, Ingersoll Rand again partnered with enguru to conduct teacher led session for “Customer Communication Skills with American English & Culture” which had equally good results.
